A Beginner’s Guide to Overachievement

By Elena and Lily

Welcome to A Beginners Guide to Overachievement, a blog shared by Lily and Elena, two high schoolers who want to get their perspectives out into the world while helping other students survive high school.

Get to Know us

Hello and Welcome! Our names are Lily and Elena and we are the founders of A Beginners Guide to Overachievement. We’re both overachievers and high school students who are passionate about our education, work, extracurriculars, and managing our lives.

Our mission is to share our experiences in order to let the world know the perspective of the high school student and help other students who are struggling to juggle their workloads, as well as incoming freshmen who want to know more about the high school experience.

We are approaching our Junior year for the 2020-2021 school year and have picked up many tips on how to navigate our lives. We are overachievers in our education, are involved in many  extracurriculars such as sports, debate, and music, and we have lots of advice concerning our personal lives, such as our diets, goals, and much more.

We share a lot in common but are also very different people and you can get to know us better separately through our next posts.

Topics

We want our posts to focus on the challenges we face, as well as share stories of our lives. In writing this blog, we hope to write something relatable, and something you can learn from.

With this said, a lot of the articles we post are going to be about managing life through high school, and how to manage extracurriculars and a heavy workload at school. We’re also both vegetarians, so we want to write about how we manage our diets and also give others a guide to how to switch to a more plant based diet, should they decide to do so.

On top of our lives, we also want to write about topics we are passionate about, and share our expertise on through our experiences and knowledge we’ve gained throughout our lives. For example, we want to write about what we as teens believe in and how we advocate for what we believe is just.

  1. Hello Elena and Lily! I’m Cindy, from Squirrels & Acorns. I decided to check out your blog just now and I’m so grateful I did. I can’t believe how similar we are – I consider myself an overachiever too, I love music and sports, and I’m also a rising junior. Anyways, I just wanted to say how relatable so much of this is and I hope you guys have a great day!
